at 7:00PM the third Tuesday of every month (except July and December)

                                                        Membership eligibility requirements

Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Air Force who served at least one  day of active duty during any of the following periods:

World War I:  April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918

World War II:  December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 

    (exception  - U.S.  Merchant Marine eligibility dates are December 7, 1941 to August 16, 1945)

 Legion Act - December 7, 1941 until present

Several Presidents of the United States have been members of the American Legion: 

Harry Truman, Dwight Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H. W. Bush and George W. Bush. 

Vice Presidents Spiro T. Agnew and Albert Gore were also members.
